FAQ

GETTING STARTED

How do I get started?

You can request an appointment directly with the therapist you'd like to see. General appointment requests can be scheduled through the contact form on our contact page or through the appointment request links on our Therapists page.

How do I know which therapist is right for me?

Finding the right therapist is an important part of therapy. Each of our therapists shares a relationship-centered approach but brings different interests, experiences, and areas of focus.Visit our Therapists page to learn more about each clinician.

Do you offer a free consultation before the first appointment?

We generally begin with a scheduled therapy appointment rather than requiring a separate consultation. Your first session provides an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy and whether you and your therapist are a fit.

Do you accept insurance?

We are a private-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. Clients who have out-of-network mental health benefits may be eligible for reimbursement from their insurance company. When applicable, we can provide a superbill that you may submit directly to your insurer.

What should I ask my insurance company about out-of-network benefits?

You may want to ask whether your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, whether you have an out-of-network deductible, how much of that deductible has been met, what percentage or amount may be reimbursed after the deductible, how superbills should be submitted, and whether benefits differ for individual, couples, or family therapy. Reimbursement is determined by your insurance company.

The card on file may be charged for applicable cancellation fees, no-show fees, and outstanding balances.

Is therapy confidential?

There are certain circumstances in which a therapist may be required or permitted to disclose information without your authorization. Your therapist will review confidentiality and its limits with you as part of the informed-consent process before treatment begins.
